That's the daily reality at this four-bedroom mountain chalet in Sjusjøen, one of the Innlandet region's most loved highland destinations, sitting at 939 meters above sea level. The cabin itself was first built in 1957, and there's a solidity to it that newer builds rarely achieve. A major extension and full modernization in 2010 brought it into a different league entirely — electric heating backing up the wood-burning stove, a proper kitchen with actual storage, a modern bathroom with tiled floors and recessed lighting. The bones are old Norwegian; the practicalities are contemporary. That combination is genuinely hard to find up here. From the kitchen, large windows face two directions.
