This 3-bedroom villa for sale in Bellapais, Kyrenia, sits on a cliffside with sea, mountain and Bellapais Abbey views from the largest bedroom terrace. It is an older house, built in the 1960s and renovated in 2006, and it keeps its stone floors, its fireplace and the proportions of a traditional Cypriot home. If you want sharp new-build finishes, this is not the one. If you want a house with a past, a short walk from the abbey, keep reading.
### The House and Its Layout
You come in through a wide entrance hall with traditional stone flooring. It is bigger than most hallways you will see, and it sets the tone straight away. From there the ground floor splits sensibly: lounge, fitted kitchen, a family bathroom and the door to the rear terrace.
The lounge has a fireplace, which matters more than it sounds. Winters in the Kyrenia hills are mild but they do get damp and cool, and an evening with a fire is part of the appeal of a house like this. In summer you have air conditioning and ceiling fans.
Upstairs, reached by stairs from the rear terrace, are three bedrooms and a guest bathroom. The house has about 120 m² of internal space and is sold furnished, so you could arrive with a suitcase rather than a removal van. There is also a storage cellar, handy for the things a second home always collects.
### Terraces, Sea Views and the Antique Water Tank
In total there are about 25 m² of terrace and balcony. The rear terrace is private and sheltered, a good place for lunch out of the wind. It also holds the oddest feature of the house: an antique water tank. With proper restoration and adaptation it could become a traditional-style jacuzzi, although that is an idea, not something that exists today.
